Financial wellness coaching

Financial wellness for creative careers.

Most financial advice assumes a steady paycheck. This industry rarely offers one, and benefits can change from one year to the next. I know both sides: as a working actor, model, and artist, and as a licensed financial services professional. Now I help actors, creatives, and crew build a real plan: a plan that fits irregular income, a runway between gigs, and savings that are theirs to keep.

The reality

Sound familiar?

Most people in this industry aren't thinking about later. Not because they don't care, but because no one ever showed them how.

  • A big check comes in, and a few months later it's gone.
  • You're all in on Plan A, with nothing in place if it takes longer than you hoped.
  • Your side job covers the gaps, but it offers no 401(k), no benefits, and no way to set money aside for later.
  • Tax season catches you off guard every year.
  • A slow year cost you your union coverage, but the dues didn't stop.
  • Nobody ever taught you how money works, or how to get ahead from where you are.

You're not bad with money. You were just never given a plan built for this career.

01 · The Approach

How we work together.

Most people in this industry aren't struggling because they lack drive. They were never given a system built for how they actually get paid. Coaching gives you that, through practical tools, honest conversations, and a plan that fits your real income, whether you're union or non-union, cast or crew.

  1. 01Managing cash flow on irregular, project-based income
  2. 02Building a runway between gigs and jobs
  3. 03Breaking the cycle of living from one paycheck to the next
  4. 04Understanding contracts, 1099 income, and what you actually take home
  5. 05Building an emergency fund and a real savings habit
  6. 06Paying down debt with an actual plan
  7. 07Confidence in money conversations with agents, managers, and reps
  8. 08Lasting financial stability and wellbeing alongside a creative career

03 · About Jordan

Real experience on both sides of the camera.

I've spent more than a decade in entertainment as an actor, model, and artist, including a series-regular role on Netflix's Huge in France. I know the rush of a booking, the stretch between checks, and the pressure to look successful while quietly wondering what comes next.

Finance was always my other passion. I learned early that money is a tool: for taking care of family and friends, for real security, and for actually enjoying the journey. That belief led me to work at three financial firms, where I worked directly with clients on their financial plans, passed the Series 65, and earned additional licenses in financial services.

During my own battle with a chronic disease, which led to brain surgery, I lost my union health coverage when I needed it most. It taught me that financial stability isn't abstract. It can mean the difference between performing freely and performing out of fear. Money should support your life and your work, not complicate them.

No matter where you're starting

You can build from here.

Jordan Ver Hoeve speaking on an industry panel

You don't need a big check or a perfect year. You need a plan, a goal, and something to aim at. Small, steady moves add up, and that stability gives you the confidence to perform at your best.

  1. Where are you?

An honest, judgment-free look at what's coming in, what's going out, any debt, and what you've saved so far.

  2. Where do you want to be?

Creating without money in the back of your mind. Taking care of the people you love. Enjoying the life you're working this hard for. We define what that looks like for you and put a real number on it.

  3. How do we get you there?

A clear, simple plan you can actually follow, adjusted as your career moves.

No matter where you're starting, you should be able to enjoy today, tomorrow, and every season after.

04 · The Programs

Your path, in three steps.

This isn't wealth management. It's guidance from someone who's lived this career: a clear process to help you think about your future and take real steps toward it.

Foundation

Where you are, and where you want to be

We start with a real conversation: what's coming in, what's going out, what's been keeping you up at night, and the things you've been meaning to think about but never had the space for. From there, I help you define what you want for yourself, the people you love, and your work, in the short, mid and long term. By the end, you have a clear starting point and a goal worth aiming at.

II

The Structure

A plan built around your goals

Next, I build a plan around those goals and around how you actually get paid: bookings, residuals, brand deals, and the side job or second business that keeps things steady. I'll show you how to manage uneven income, set aside for taxes, build a cushion between gigs, work through any debt in the right order, and start paying your future self, even in small amounts. That way your creative work never has to carry the whole load.

III

Legacy

Building what lasts

This is where we think long term. Most people in this industry put "later" on the back burner, and many have side jobs with no retirement plan to fall back on. Together, we make a plan for putting money away now and growing a nest egg that's yours to keep, so the future you is taken care of while you still enjoy the life you're living today. I'm with you along the way, and we adjust as your career and goals change.

Every plan needs a foundation before the walls and roof go up, but no two look the same. This is the framework. The real plan takes shape in our sessions, built around what you need and adjusted as your life changes.

05 · Questions

Common questions.

Straight answers before your first call.

What's the difference between financial coaching and financial advice?+

Financial coaching is education, planning, and accountability: building a plan around your income, your habits, and your systems. It's not personalized investment advice, insurance recommendations, or portfolio management, which are a separate, clearly disclosed engagement. If a conversation moves into that territory, I'll tell you directly and point you toward the right resource.

Is financial coaching therapy or mental health support?+

No. I'm not a licensed therapist, and coaching isn't a substitute for mental health care. But I've been involved with mental health organizations that support artists for years, and I've seen how closely money and peace of mind are connected. Financial stress is one of the heaviest things a person can carry. Finding stability there is a big part of feeling balanced, free to create, and free to enjoy your everyday life. If you'd benefit from therapy too, I'm happy to point you toward the right support.

Where are you located?+

I'm based in Los Angeles and Nashville, and I work with clients everywhere. Meet in person in either city, or connect by video from anywhere in the U.S. or around the world.

How does it work?+

We start with a free 15-minute phone call to understand what's feeling difficult and what you want to change. From there, we build a plan around your actual income and schedule, meeting regularly to keep the system current as your work evolves.

Is this only for actors?+

No. Because of my experience in the industry, I specialize in helping people who work in the arts, entertainment, and athletics. However, the coaching principles apply to anyone navigating irregular income from projects.

How much does it cost?+

Your first 15-minute call is free. Program pricing depends on what you need, and it's built with creative incomes in mind, including flexible payment options. I'll walk you through everything on the call, and you'll know exactly what you'd pay before anything starts.

I'm in a union. Doesn't that cover me?+

Not always. Union health and retirement benefits usually depend on hitting earnings or work thresholds, and many members don't qualify every year, or at all. Even when you do, those benefits are a foundation, not a full plan. Coaching helps you build stability that doesn't depend on one year's bookings: savings, retirement of your own, and a safety net for you and your family.

You're licensed. Can you give me investment or insurance advice?+

I'm licensed in financial services, so I can recognize when a question goes beyond coaching, and I'll tell you when it does. Coaching itself is education, planning, and accountability, not personalized investment or insurance recommendations. If you ever need that kind of advice, it's a separate conversation with its own disclosures, and I'll point you to the right resource. It's never a requirement, and coaching never depends on it.
